Notes for Adult Chorus
CHORUS Can we get a great shout from everyone who is entering when Bill says “Let’s get going!”
CHORUS We need lots of chatter and greeting each other when you first enter in Part One. Keep responses high and bright or low and loud to add to the general sound.
SUSAN Please bring the children downstage right to sit on/around the stairs during Big Set (Lila was doing this previously, you may want to check in with her about exactly when they moved).
MAX Where are you during Wexford Carol? We may need your help getting handbells for Deck the Halls. Please see Betsy.
SARAH and JESSICA We only have one basket of decorations for the children’s set, it’s the one with apples with ribbons/hooks on them. You can decide which of you brings it on to hand to Catie.
JAN Bring the cheese out horizontally, and then lift it up over your head.
CAROLINE and CRISTINA Sorry I gave you the wrong order for the verses!! It’s pie and then biscuits. Do your costumes allow you to lift up your items over your heads?
CHORUS We want to make the Aiken Drum responses more specific to the lines (see cheese, pie, and biscuits). React to the joke of those coming out.
CHORUS Respond to the crow hats being put on the kids—you don’t know what they are until the song starts.
CHORUS – KENTUCKY WASSAIL Who is in the up right corner when Kentucky table comes out? Please clear after childrens set right away before you get run over by the table.
KENTUCKY WASSAIL TABLE MOVERS Anticipate getting the table on while the previous song is happening. Jody, maybe you can face forward and carry it behind you?
PETE Don’t sing during Kentucky Wassail–your banjo mic is picking you up.
CHORUS Imagine there is actually liquid in those mugs! You would all be soaked by the end of that song.
SARAH Come see Julia for a note about the mouse.
JANE See Roberta about getting people’s attention in Kentucky Wassail.
TOASTERS Get either up or out of the crowd so we can see you while you speak. Try to get in front of a microphone if you’re on the apron.
JANE Wait for the chorus to respond before saying the translation of your toast, we’re losing the second line because of people responding during it.
ANNE Good Farmer’s Toast! We lost the words “sheer” and “sheep” on this run.
BARRY Good Farmer’s Toast!
CHORUS— SHADY GROVE Who takes the second table off SL after Shady Grove? It’s going later than it should, so let’s figure out how we can make that happen.
DAVID POTTS-DUPRE Your mic must have slipped after you removed your mask. We we’re having issues hearing you because of that. During the Farmer’s Toast, please sneak off Stage Left to get your mic checked by Danny. Also, embed yourself in the band more.
JIM H. Can you begin Meeting in the Woods quicker and louder? The scene took a long time to start today.
CAROLINE In Meeting in the Woods, remember to go to the position we found for you to the right of Harold.
TAI and ANDREA Journey never went to get Ziva today. How can we get her to a place where she can go get Ziva? Let’s chat about this Friday.
BERNIE Bring Maya with you when moving for Promised Land/Amazing Grace.
CHORUS – PROMISED LAND Allow your physical presence to build during Promised Land. Get stronger in your as the song gets stronger. Get your voices up and out.
CHORUS – PROMISED LAND In Revels, oftentimes the chorus will move downstage as a group. How is each one different in emotional quality? Please think about this in each song and how it affects your presence.
GREG MG Tell the audience what number it is in the program for the audience sings. Correction from Betsy – Greg McG, please just refer to the front of the Song Sheet.
CHORUS- COME THOU FOUNT OF EVERY BLESSING We want to be able to see the dulcimer on the porch, so you may have to clear farther to the sides than you think.
ALL BLESSINGS Please step down further so you are in front of a floor mic.
JODY Thank you for leading a line far House Left in Lord of the Dance.
CHORUS- WAYFARING STRANGER Don’t move to exit until after Matt stops singing.
JODY If you don’t think you’ll be able to get rid of your coal in the Hogmanay scene because of where you’re standing, you can mime getting a coal instead.
ARI and SASHA Talk to Jody about if he wants to mime getting his coal.
JODY Good on your line in “Coming From Home”
SUSAN Remember to slide over SR so you’re not in front of the porch for “Coming From Home”
SUSAN Hold the kids a bit longer before coming out for Act 2 porch scene (the first half were early, the second half came on at the right time).
HOGMANAY STICK HOLDERS It looked great today, but don’t enter until you hear the pipes.
JANE and JIM Remember to move downstage when you do your duet in Star in the East.
CHORUS – STAR IN THE EAST Please don’t forget the move downstage during your respective verses.
BETSY Move into place a little earlier so you are already in place to begin speaking before Peace Round.
ROLLIE You can get rid of the staff offstage during Breaking Up Christmas. Come talk to Julia about this.
ELIZABETH ANNE Can you come DS with Bill during While By My Sheep?
BILL Show the audience how to lift the 5 gold rings.
MUMMERS Remember to cheer on your side for each of the combatants, and make the responses different!
MUMMERS SIGN HOLDERS Assuming we get both sets of signs today, you should come practice with them with your partner when you get a minute. Julia can watch and help while you do that.
AULD LANG SYNE Auld Lang Syne was great today!
Notes for Teen Chorus
ALL Roberta will call you down for Lord of the Dance starting Friday. If there’s nobody in the tiers, you can stay onstage and join the aisles next to the walls.
ARI Will you help Leah with putting crow hats on the kids during Children’s set? We will rehearse this today during the children’s rehearsal at 5:00.
LILA There is a basket for the girl’s dolls, let’s talk about where that will be.
